1. What is the most basic finding of the polls that have been released in the last week?
The polls show that there has been an uptick in support for impeachment; however, most Americans still do not support impeachment, although two-third of democrats support impeachment.

2. What did YouGov and the Economist find that most Americans feel about the president's actions?
52% of Americans believe that the President's actions are inappropriate. 22% said that the actions were appropriate, and 26% said they were not sure.

3. What did that same poll find about American attitudes toward the president if he withheld funding to the Ukraine?
62% of Americans said that is was inappropriate to threaten the withholding of foreign aid in an attempt to force a country to help the sitting president. Furthermore, 14% said it was appropriate, and 24% said they were not sure.

4. What change in attitudes did the Quinnipiac poll find?
The Quinnipac poll shows that there is a 5 percentage point increase in the support for impeachment, and there is a 12 percentage point increase in support for impeachment among Democrats.



5. What is important about the time frame in which the poll was conducted?
The Quinnipac poll was released on September 19, a day before the Wall Street Journal's article on Trump's Ukraine scandal. Furthermore, the poll ended before Nancy Pelosi declared the impeachment inquiry on Trump.

6. What recent related events are not accounted for in the results of these polls?
The polls do not account for the changes in public opinion after Pelosi declared an impeachment, it doesn't account for the public opinion from the release of the memo of Trump and Zelensky's phone call. Last, the poll doesn't capture the public sentiments from the Joseph Maguire testimony.

7. According to these polls, how many Americans are not paying attention to these developments?
According to the Marist poll, 32% of Americans said they were not paying attention to the Ukraine scandal. And according to the YouGov/HuffPost poll, 42 percent of respondents said that they did not know enough about the scandal to come to a definitive position/decision.


8. What do other polls say about the current state of the race to be the Democratic nominee?
According to the  Selzer poll, in Iowa, Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden are neck and neck, at 22% and 20% respectively. Meanwhile, Sanders has 11%. Also, in New Hampshire, Warren has 27% support while Biden had 25%.
